Jay wanted big and fuzzy dogs, so now that we have a house and yard, we have 2 Akitas -- Walter and Circe.

They're from a litter of 6 Akitas in Springfield, IL. 5 of the 6 dogs were placed by Akita Rescue of CU into homes in the Champaign-Urbana area.

When we have time, we join Pam Wasson's dog class on Thursday afternoons. It's usually at a park in town, this picture was taken at Hessel Park (Walter thinks slides are fun, Circe prefers to climb back down the steps):
